Speed is outstanding. Works great with old and new software. Cons: Should be using Firefox, Google Chrome, Chromium or Opera instead of Epiphany for the browser. Same goes for email client; Thunderbird or anything else in place of what's currently used. Software center is mediocre at best.
Searches by name rarely find the right package; i.e., searching for 'Synaptic' didn't return the package manager. The better bits and pieces of package management must be installed manually. NVidia native (non-free) drivers are not installed automatically even though hardware is present. No clear or easy way to install nVidia drivers with bare system. Have to install synaptic and some other packages to install additional proprietary drivers.
Needs to have LibreOffice installed by default. GRUB is weird; had to remove all other drives during install in order for Elementary to boot properly after. With all that said, ElementaryOS gets a STRONG recommend from me.
