Hi I'm new to the forum and new to Jaguar having just bought an '06 X Type SE 2.2 Diesel. Love the car but for the past 4 weeks I've been tearing my hair out trying to find how water is getting into the drivers footwell and even seaping into the rear passenger footwell. I have solved the problem finally and hoped this might help someone else. As well as this problem the car has a water ingress problem that causes the driver footwell to be saturated. Not damp but really saturated. I thought it could be a door seal that's failed letting in water. Can anyone shed any light to these problems or should I give this a miss being more hassle than it's worth?

Has your Clio flooded recently? Like you, I looked everywhere for answers, after finding out it was the central scuttle drain pipe (and clearing it) I then went about trying to dry the carpet. I checked youtube videos which just told me how to find the leak, not actually dry the car out! I also asked forums and searched the internet but everyone said you had to remove the car seat and center console (where the gear stick is), that to me was too much hassle. So I investigated my car and found out that you don't need to take any of the seats off, as long as your flooding is localised, it is possible to do it as explained in this video.

Any questions, just ask!
