FSX LHSimulations - BUDAPEST LISZT FERENC LHBP V1.01
I was using Aerosoft Mega airport Budapest for many years (on FSX and FS9 - the latter no longer on my new computer) and decided on an upgrade. I'm very happy indeed. This version is definitely worth every cent. Visually and performance wise, it outdoes Aerosoft. The grass is volumetric, the night lighting spectacular and (very important for me) still allows me to use AES services.

Enter their forum if you have suggestions to share for their update v1.4. This scenery for FSX, FSX:SE, FS9 and P3D v1/v2 is already one of the best European capital airport scenery, a great deal combining super details.
I use UTX and GEX world-wide and this presents zero compatibility issues. With sliders maxed, I still had no performance problems whatsoever. FPS (fixed at 30) are solid all the way to the gate. I hadn't heard of LHS until today, but these developers know their stuff and I hope to see many more additions from them in the future. Worth every star in my opinion. One of the best airport sceneries I ever bought.
I got it on a sale, never heard of LHS before and didn't expect much.but then I was blown away. Beautiful textures, great attention to detail, fantastic fps on my midrange system. Be aware though that there's a known issue with ftx global vector and this scenery: if you have road traffic enabled, there are micro stutters and fps drops every few seconds. The only solution at the moment is either disabling ftx vector OR road traffic when using this scenery. I do the latter because I don't care much for road traffic anyway.
I had the Aerosoft Mega Airport for Budapest, but after looking a bit at this I bought this one to replace my old Mega Airport. This Scenery is awesome and blows Aerosoft´s Scenery out of the water.
In every aspect this Scenery is better. It is actually one of, if not my favorite Scenery right now. It´s up there with the FlyTampa Dubai, Mega Airport Dubai and Mega Airport Oslo v2 in detail, albeit smaller (But more correct than certain others were on release).
A must have for me as a member of Virtual Norwegian (and a Hangarian missus) with regular flights to Ferihegy both IRL and in my sim. Looks beautiful. Way prettier than the old Aerosoft version. Using it on FSX Acceleration with Orbx FTX Global and FTX Vector. There is a minor problem with the winter textures not switching at the same time as FSX so you will see snow at the airport and spring all around it.
This is not a big deal. It will likely get fixed.
Until then just move your date one month ahead. However, it is not flyable to me. After 6 uninstalls/re-installs I still get odd stutters on approach and takeoff. I have posted my FPS on their forum. I have a new i4770K CPU running at 4.5GHz so I should not have problems with this scenery. Most of the time I stay in the high 20s but on approach and takeoff it has dips to single-digit FPS.
In comparison, using same aircraft and same weather and AI settings I get a consistent high-20s at FSDT's CYVR (which is more complex and has more AI). Note that this is the only add-on (and I have around a 100 or so) that has these stutters on my machine. An absolutely awesome addon from LHS! I had used and admired their incredible sceneries (Debrecen and Sarmellek) before they moved into payware. LHBP is their largest and best project so far. I don't think I will exaggerate saying the joined the best of the best in this business.
I enjoy their creation not less than airports from Flightbeam, Flytampa, Taxi2gate or Drzewiecki Design. There are tones of small details, great animations, fantastic textures. Night lighting must be the best I've ever seen. All this with very high FPS, low VAS use and and funnily low price. All those of you who enjoy top notch scenery and still do not have LHS LHBP: go and get it now!
Don't waste your FS life without it.:). I already knew their freeware was good.
But I had simply no idea how good this product would be. I have NEVER seen an airport so perfect as this one.
(Sounds like hyperbole - but it isn't.) In complete honesty (speaking as one who has spent FAR too much money on nice airports and FAR too many hours installing freeware scenery), I had no idea it was even possible to create something that so completely captures the atmosphere of a real airport as this one - even the best of them have been slightly off. Not so here, though. And so perfectly fine performance-wise, too! I have no idea what took me so long to get it. It's a steal at full-price - as a DealoftheDay offer, there frankly shouldn't be one of you that doesn't have it in your hangar.
There is no other words to describe this piece of art. It has such a great tone. The textures are just beautiful and nothing has been left out, it's pure quality from ground textures to airport lighting and modeling. However, now when I wrote that I realized there is actually one thing, at least in fs2004 that bothers me, and thats the night textures are the apron, they do not look that good. Seems to be a struggle for many developers to get them great and this is true for this product as well. But when you look at the whole product its a minor problem, its so good in all other ways you tend to just accept that and move on.
And hurray and thank you LHS for still releasing products for fs2004, it makes a huge difference for the few of us fs2004 simmers still out there! I run this under DX10 with Steves DX10 fixer and it runs great even at night now with the ground textures now showing up. Not sure if it was the recent upgrade or me sliding the legacy slider all the way over to scenery.
Either way this is an awesome airport. Love the hazy light effect at night.
FPS's are great even with PMDG 737. Can't wait to use the AES utility on this scenery.
First flight LHBP to LSZH at night. Wonderful city lights and detail on takeoff.
Been a fan of the airport since watching Justplanes Malev airlines video way back. A shame to see the airline go under. Wizz will do for now.
Thanks LHsimulations for great detail, keep up the great work. Think twice before buying this scenery. Read their forums first. I'm sure many people have had few problems with this package but for some (me included), the scenery will not install properly.
After 3 installations, I still do not have buildings showing. The developer was helpful initially but after creating logs, installing new.dll's, installing a new xml.dll and installing v1.2, it still doesn't work. The developer stated that they tested it with SP2 but not Acceleration and I bet this is the source of the issue. HOW TO INSTALL 1- Install the scenery. 2- Open regedit and find HKEYLOCALMACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeLHSimulationsLHBP and add the serial provided into the reg file. 3- Paste the LHBPobjectPlacer.dll into the Modules folder in FSX. 4- Go to Addon Scenery and push LHBP Activator. This will activate your scenery. 5- Run FSX, at the beginning you will get a windows asking to run the LHBPobjectPlacer.dll push YES.
After this you will get a problem code, just ignore it. 6- LHBP is fully working.
